An ideal California Chardonnay with the sophistication of its Burgundian counterpart, the first thing you will notice about this wine is the vibrant color. Brighter than lemon and just shy of chartreuse, to call it yellow simply doesn’t do it justice. The initial fruity aromas of peach and tangerine give way to a more complex smoky bouquet. The palate notes complementary citrus fruits balanced with a hint of wet stone and an energetic finish that leaves your mouth feeling refreshed and ready for the next course. The use of just 40-60% new barrels keeps the oak to a minimum and results in an elegant medium bodied Chard with an impressive 14.5% alcohol content. The grapes in this wine are sourced from a small riverbank vineyard that produces just over 800 cases a year. Pair this wine with Florida Gulf Shrimp and other local shellfish favorites.
