Although not typically a cool climate grape, this Merlot from the chilly valleys of Walla Walla, Washington exhibits surprisingly complex elegance and balance. Fragrant spicy notes accompanied by hints of blackpepper fill the bouquet while leather and cinnamon flavors shine through on the palate. Almost 2 years of aging in American and Hungarian oak has added toasty vanilla and black currant impressions to the delicate tannins. Only 2400 cases of this single varietal were produced. Pairs well with roasted meats and baked fish dishes and will compliment casseroles nicely.
